It seems that I have a thing for meeting incredibly talented ladies called Tracey in Coffee shops?

I just started my new job at a sweet coffee shop in central London and amidst the espressos, double shots and business people of Farringdon I got to meet this lovely family from California. Being super nosy while clearing their cups, I asked about the awesome contents of her table and found her to be one of the coolest mums. She designed this amazing travel kit for her lovely little girl to engage in their London adventures. Each pack has it’s own logo, questions, sketchbook. I want one!

Tracey also runs a beaut blog and design company. Have a little gander, you’ll see pictures from their adventures in London and also the coffee shop I’m now working in!

Found: Gretel Girl

The other day I pottered into Gertrude street for coffee with two new and lovely friends Laura (maker of a very lovely nook for me in their home) and Chris (hilarious fan of Derek – my dinosaur). We planted our selves on the window seat in a spiffy cafe, our legs hanging over the sill/seat while we were served flat whites and savoury feta, ham and tomato muffins.. DELISH!

Being ‘magpie like’ I was distracted from our conversations of life, love and coffee by our view from the window sill/seat. Cute street art, a ginger man with chin straps and his little asian fiance having photo’s together on said street art and a beautifully dressed lady drinking her coffee and drawing a gorgeous fox illustration. I had a feeling that the fox drawer had a kind disposition so pottered over to ask her who she was and what she does.

Meet Tracey, from Adelaide, who was in Melbourne for an art/craft fair. She is an artist and runs a business from her art called Gretel Girl. She draws beautifully detailed illustrations and also transfers them on to ceramics and wood blocks PLUS she is super friendly and pretty! She also seemed to think similarly to us ‘Foxes’ about living  life generously with art and creativity and making tracks!

She and her husband sound pretty awesome too, she has decided to do what she loves, her art, for a living and her husband is studying. Doing what they want and what they love setting an example for their kids that money isn’t everything if you get to do what you love! That is pretty cool!

So check out beautiful Gretel Girl, like her on facebook and buy some of her gorgeous work! If you’re in Sydney you can find her yourself at Finders Keepers Dec 8th and 9th!

This one is my favourite! ‘Not on my watch!’

Come Home to Me: the Lazenby’s!

Us foxes have the good fortune of knowing some incredibly stylish, lovely and clever people. Though most of us don’t  own our own place we like to make the best of what we’ve got! Here are a few ideas of things you could do to turn your humble abode into a cosy sanctuary that feels just like you!

A few months ago now in our Friday Finds we featured this beautiful artist called Mark Lazenby he has some seriously amazing work that you can buy here. Do it! Every house needs a Lazenby.

Mark, his beauty of a wife Rachel and their amazing kids live in one of my favourite houses to visit because of how beautifully they have decorated it. It is fun, quirky and cool, just like them!

Their kitchen, like many, is where some of the loveliest things happen, cooking, eating, talking, drinking.

The walls are filled with things that are a proper treat for your eyes!

Under “To & From THE ZOO”  is one of my favourites of Mark’s “A Brief History of Eternity”. You can buy it!

“So Far” (below)  is by a British Pop Artist called Joe Tilson.

I missed getting a pic of their eldest Noah’s art work that’s up on the wall and is also pretty amazing!

Mark and Rachel’s mantle has loads of lovely anniversary pressies that they have made for each other, as well as cute pics of their little ones!

This one is coloured in sugar cubes for their ‘sugar’ anniversary, 6 years!

There are also all these beaut little touches, like this little defender of the lounge room hiding up near the ceiling!

I want a house just like this one day!

A house that is quirky.

A house that is homely.

A house full of beautiful things.

A house that celebrates the people and things I love.

That, right there, is a true story.

Happy Thursday … one day til the weekend and I get to hang out with that spiffy lady, Hanna, in Bristol!!

Whoopie!

Friday finds on a Saturday..

Apologies for the late post. Yesterday was spent on the couch smothered in deep heat and popping painkillers like candy. (That was hyperbolic, Mum, don’t worry I had them at the accepted 4 hour intervals!)

Better late than never here is something to lust after for your house, some sweet artwork and something for your belly on these chilly autumn days.

For your house:

This beautiful peacock chair from ‘The Family Love Tree.’ Maybe I’ll bring one back from Aus when I’m out there? Not sure about luggage allowance? There are butt loads of beautiful things to ‘crush on’ on their website quilts, pillows, chairs.

Some seriously sweet artwork by Ghostpatrol:

The GhostPatrol website has some lovely images to get lost in from sketchbook drawings to Gocco prints. Do it… Have a look, I dare you! (sorry, that was a bit aggressive.. look if you want.)

And as the days grow more and more crisp we are definitely heading into Hot Chocolate territory.. Here is Jamie Oliver’s recipe for the Best Hot Chocolate.

Play around with it though, add some Baileys, Rum, Coconut Milk, Nutella, a mint hershey’s kiss??

Happy weekend… make some nice hot chocolate.

And maybe a baileys one for us foxes?

Thank you please!

Found: OhhDeer.com

After smashing some sushi in my face and washing some tramadol down with diet coke I realised, with 15 minutes left of lunch, that I needed to come up with a little post for today.

So, OhhDeer.com is somewhere that I regularly find myself putting things in my online basket and never checking out. Sometimes that works well. You feel as though you scratched your shopping ‘itch’ and then sometimes it’s depressing because no beautiful and magic packages arrive at your door.

Anyway, it is full of fun, beautiful, mystical art work that is entirely reasonable in price.

Some of my favourite illustrators are featured Jamie Mitchell… Who doesn’t want a polar bear with a beanie on called BOB!?

Sandra Dieckmann … ‘Hello bear on the back of an eagle with laser eyes!’

and Mark Callaby with his err .. ‘Great tits!’ hahaha!

Enjoy perusing this sweet website chockas full of beautiful illustrations.. before you know it half a day is gone and your pretend online shopping basket is full as a gook!

Still got 6 minutes left… Coffee?

xx Celeste
