Linger: Neds Loft

There is nothing sweeter than stealing a night away from it all and finding a special spot to rest your head, to hide from the crowds, and to enjoy hours of conversation over whiskey and wine.  We have found some fabulous spots that are too wonderful to keep to ourselves:

Neds Loft:

“Meander past historic stone walls and courtyards, through old creaky gates to ancient yews, chamomile and croquet lawns”

This beautiful cottage has a pretty special space in my heart for it is where we spent our first few days wed.  It’s a little village of cottages called Limepark Cottages complete with arts facilities, crochet lawns and tennis courts.  Limepark dates back to 1720, and is situated in a tiny village called Armoy, along the Causeway coast, in the Glens region of North Antrim, Northern Ireland.  Surrounded by unspoilt beaches, cliffs and wild coastline – it is in one of the most beautiful parts of Northern Ireland (and I suspect, the world!)

Not only is it beautifully situated, but the cottages are beyond beautiful. Our families sampled most of them over the wedding, and they are all very special, but none as special as Neds Loft.  It is complete with a minstrels gallery, a harmonium and a roll top bath, it is hard to imagine a hide away more perfect.  If you get bored inside there is a games room, library, arts soom, croquet lawn and tennis court all here too.  To top it all of it is hosted by the loveliest couple…

The view from the bedroom window

“At night a real darkness falls, reacquaint yourself with the sight of a sky full of stars”

If you can resist no longer, pop along to to see more.
